“Locked On” officially selected for the Setting Sun Film Festival

March 21, 2022

MH Media’s documentary short film “Locked On” has received Official Selection in the 2022 Setting Sun Film Festival (SSFF), which is to begin on 5 May 2022.

Locked On documents the actions of two climate activists, and their supporters, who blockaded the ExxonMobil fuel terminal in Yarraville late last year. The film was produced and created by people active within the climate justice movement.

Director’s statement:

I’m pleased and honoured that Locked On has been officially selected for the Setting Sun Film Festival in 2022.

Setting Sun has evidently become a reputable and renowned local film festival based in the western suburbs of Melbourne in the years that it’s been running. Competition was always going to be tough as a result.

Locked On tells not only a story of people who live in the western suburbs, but also deals with the major issue of our time; being the climate crisis, and the lengths people will go in order to keep the issue on the agenda and force meaningful action.

SSFF, founded in 2013, is “a community festival to provide the West with its own film festival that promoted its large community of filmmakers, its people and stories”, growing in popularity to become “the premier international film festival in Melbourne’s West and one of the largest short film festivals in Melbourne”.
