A week of mobilisation in Sydney against climate inaction.

In New South Wales, it’s effectively illegal to protest without a permit. Disrupting traffic also potentially comes with a $22,000 fine and 2 years in jail – laws that were legislated in response to Blockade Australia’s previous mobilisations.

At least 10 activists were arrested on the first day of the mobilisatio. Dozens more would be tracked down, raided and arrested in the subsequent days.

Those arrested and detained described their conditions as particularly cruel and punitive; with custody officers said to go out of their way to make their time in custody as harsh as possible.
