Community opposition to Viva Energy’s proposed Corio Bay gas terminal continues apace.

A snap protest action is initiated by Geelong Renewables Not Gas at Lascelles Wharf, North Shore in Geelong; after GeelongPort announced that a commercial agreement had been reached between themselves and Viva to support the proposal and withdraw from the EES hearings.

Previously, GeelongPort expressed significant safety and environmental concerns with Viva’s proposal and only last week advised the panel that the project shouldn’t go ahead.
