Event photography: Grand Final Live Site – Eastern Beach, Geelong

by Matt Hrkac | Sep 27, 2025 | Events, Public Events

The City of Greater Geelong hosted a free Grand Final Live Site at Eastern Beach, Geelong, and hundreds of mostly Geelong Cats fans came out to watch their team play the Brisbane Lions in the AFL Grand Final. We went along and captured the event, both the early highs and the later lows.

It unfortunately wasn't a repeat of 2022. After a very low scoring and extremely close first half, the Lions were ultimately victorious by 47 points (Scores: Geelong 75 - Brisbane 122) after it blitzed the final quarter.

We provide event photography services for all sorts of events in Geelong, Melbourne and beyond. Have an event coming up? Get in contact.

Some early goals to the Cats saw fans get their hopes up. The cheers, however, from the overwhelmingly Geelong supporting crowd, wasn't to last.

There were some Brisbane supporters in the crowd, however they were a minority when compared to the blue and white.
