Consider this a part two, in light of Geelong's ascension into the Grand Final of the 2025 AFL Season, to this look back at the celebratory aftermath of Geelong's 2022 AFL Grand Final win.
The City of Greater Geelong was all to keen to continue the celebrations, and it put on a shoe in the form of a street parade. Thousands of fans flocked to the Geelong Waterfront to give the players a heroes reception.
We of course were there, albeit unofficially, to take some photos. Unfortunately, the City of Greater Geelong said there won't be a repeat this year should the Cats win the Grand Final, though other celebrations will go ahead, win or lose.
We provide event photography services for all sorts of events in the Melbourne and Geelong areas.

In a bit of detail: the City temporarily changed street name signs to Premiership Way.

Thousands of fans, young and old, packed the barricaded streets of the Geelong Waterfront to await the parade.

The players soon started coming through, often with their children in toe. Though this wasn't without frustration, including from fans, as the players were being driven through two at a time, and there weren't enough cars to transport everyone. This led to 10-15 minute gaps between players coming through the parade.

The Geelong West Brass Band formed part of the parade.

Fans then gathered before a stage at Steampacket Gardens for the formal proceedings.

Then-City of Greater Geelong Mayor Peter Murrihy opens proceedings and introduces the premiership players onto the stage.
