We recently shot the 60th birthday party of a guy named Robert at Queenscliff Town Hall, a local known in Queenscliff for his involvement with Cottage by the Sea.
We've shot a few 50ths and 60ths over the years and they've always been extravagant affairs, with this one being no different. Though the difference with this particular event was its more playful superhero/villain theme, and most of the guests seemed to get right into it.
Two bands played during the main festivities - The Big Bash Band and Queen Forever. Big Bash Band is a R&B Blues and 70's band while Queen Forever is - you guessed it - a Queen cover band. Big Bash Band is a local act, being based in nearby Barwon Heads, while Queen Forever is based in Melbourne - wtill a local act, though not as 'hyper-local'.
As far as venues are concerned, Queenscliff Town Hall was solid to shoot at, with the lighting being really good for shooting the bands as well as the guests.

We captured every little bit of detail, right down to the decorative elements. A media wall was also present to allow guests to receive the star treatment of having their group photos taken after walking down the red carpet to enter the venue.

After a while, the guests settled and the bands started playing, as guests hit the dance floor. Robert, with his wife by his side, also addressed guests in between each of the bands.

Overall this was a good night with a lot of energy.
