Activists from climate action movement Extinction Rebellion snuck into the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) on Sunday and glued themselves onto a Picasso painting 'Massacre in Korea'.

The activists also unfurled a banner reading "Climate Chaos = War + Famine".

The action took place during the final day of the Picasso Century exhibit. The exhibit was shut down for at least two hours as police removed the glued on activists. Two people were arrested.

The activists glued their hands onto the perspex protecting the artwork - hence, the artwork itself wasn't damaged.

Similar actions targeting the arts world - long viewed by outsiders as insular, conservative and middle-class - to bring attention to the climate crisis, have taken place in art galleries around the world.

Extinction Rebellion in Victoria have planned a series of protest actions over the next two weeks to bring attention to the climate crisis, which its dubbing as "Spring Rebellion '22"

It's an election year! We were recently hired to shoot a series of team headshots for Greens candidates Emilie Flynn, for the seat of Geelong; and Jesse Holden, for the seat of Polwarth.

These images are to be used for flyers as well as for media.
