Park Hotel refugees are now all free

by Matt Hrkac | Apr 7, 2022 | Refugee Rights, Social Justice

Refugee advocates have today confirmed that the last of the refugees who were being detained in the Park Hotel, Carlton, have been granted visas (albeit temporary) and released into the community.

It was a long fight for advocates, who dug in for nearly two years in support of the detainees, with a wide variety of different actions and protest tactics being used to raise awareness.

Below is a round up of photos from actions and protests that have taken place at the Park Hotel - in support of the refugees who were being detained there - over the last nearly two years. Some of these photos haven't been published until now.

This of course is far from the end of it, as refugees still remain languishing in detention centres across the country. For now, at least, the Park Hotel chapter of the fight for refugee rights draws to a close.

It's an election year! We were recently hired to shoot a series of team headshots for Greens candidates Emilie Flynn, for the seat of Geelong; and Jesse Holden, for the seat of Polwarth.

These images are to be used for flyers as well as for media.

With the Victorian State Election coming up coming up in November this year, we're making our services available to any community oriented candidate whose values align with our own. These services can include candidate headshots at a location in your electorate, photography and/or video coverage of campaign launches or filming of campaign related content. Get in contact to enquire further.

Note: we reserve the right to decline working with any candidate who we see is harmful or otherwise is antithesis to our values.
