The Human Growth Foundation (HGF), a global not-for-profit organisation that serves as a "global leader in endocrine research, education, patient advocacy, and support" and describes itself as the "oldest nonprofit organisation of its kind" hosted its Pediatric Bone Symposium in Melbourne; with its theme: Cracking the Code of Skeletal Dysplasia - From Bench to Bedside. The event brings together leading experts to explore breakthroughs in skeletal dysplasia research, diagnosis and patient care.
The event featured speeches from Prof. Ravi Savarirayan (Updates in Clinical Trials in Skeletal Dysplasia), Dr. Chris Harris (Orthopaedic Aspects of Skeletal Dysplasia) and Dr. Natassja Billich (Nutritional Considerations in Skeletal Dysplasia).
We were hired to both photograph and film the event; including the speeches and the speakers, attendees, event setup as well as food details. The event was hosted at Melbourne Marriott Hotel Exhibition Room. We faced little challenge in adequately photographing the event in this space - though the screen projector was low enough to project onto the speakers at times which made some images completely unusable. The below, of Prof. Ravi Savarirayan, being an example that wasn't completely unsalvageable.
Nonetheless, the symposium is one of many that has been hosted by the HGF at locations around the world - including the United States (where the organisation is based) and London.
