Sustainable Investment Exchange (SIX) hired us to photograph its 'SIXer Mixer' event in Melbourne, with SIX co founders Adam Verway and Sophie Hall.
Ethical investment, and investing in companies and using those shareholdings to affect change in how those companies operate (particularly when it comes to environmental concerns but also: modern slavery, equality and other social concerns), has become a pretty big thing in recent years. SIX is an investment platform that allows people to effectively do that through easily accessible ethical profiles. SIX also runs targeted shareholder campaigns. It describes itself as "Australia's only ethical share trading platform".
As for the event itself; in layman's terms, the 'SIXer Mixer' was a laid back form of networking event where attendees could have a drink, some food and share thoughts and ideas about the platform with the co founders and SIX staff, as well as engage and connect with other atttendees. We were tasked with capturing candid photos of the evening.
The event was hosted at The Commons Wellington Street, in Collingwood. As candid images were the goal, we had to avoid using a flash on camera. The venue itself is a nice space though and the lighting was generally warm - particularly early on during the event when we were aided by the ample natural light that streamed in through the windows, but it led to some challenges once the sun set and we were relying on venue lighting alone. Still, we perservered.

We provide photography and videography services for all sorts of corporate and networking events throughout Melbourne and all across Victoria. Get in contact to enquire.
