Thousands turn out for ‘A Gathering for Gaza’

Numerous bands played at a packed out PICA Melbourne as part of A A Gathering for Gaza to raise funds for humanitarian relief in Gaza.

Throughout the night, more than 5,000 people came through the doors, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for Olive Kids, Palestine Australia Relief and Action, Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF), and Palestinian Australian New Zealand Medical Association (PANZMA).

Various speakers also engaged the audience in between the various acts, with the event host being comedian Nazeem Hussain.

The Belair Lip Bombs, the first act of the night, performing on stage.

Classical Arabic music group, Tarab Ensemble. The second of the night.

Melbourne based Palestinian soul singer/songwriter, YARA.

Indie rock/folk band, Folk Bitch Trio.

Aboriginal hip-hop artist, Miss Kaninna.

Melbourne based musician, Angle McMahon.

Indie singer/songwriter Julia Jacklin.

The final act of the night, Ghanaian-Australian rapper and singer Genesis Owusu.
